It’s that time of the year again. The holiday period draws near and you may be thinking about all the exotic, faraway places you want to visit. But staying focused could be more important now than ever.
Business coach Sophie Robertson claims, “this is when your leadership, vision and strategy is much needed”. Robertson stresses that it’s survival of the fittest in this economic climate, and your efforts could lead your team to come out on top!
Here’s how:
Responsibility and Planning
Planning is important. Having a strategy for how to deal with any issues or problems can be crucial. Take responsibility as a leader or a staff member in making suggestions about what changes can be made, whether big or small.
Addressing problems
Most importantly, carry out your plans! There is no point planning how you can improve your workplace if you don’t plan on following through.
Team building
You may have had to lay off a few staff members in the last year, so you need to boost the morale of the staff you still have! Communicate with your team or staff members; ask for their opinions and suggestions, and involve them in the process of any changes taking place. Reassure staff that they are valued team members. This can reduce feelings of anxiety about job security and create a better atmosphere in the workplace. The feelings of your staff matter most when it comes to productivity.
