As part of our continued growth and commitment to grow the overall software industry, we're excited to be bringing on interns into our Engineering Internship program! Being part of this program will give you an opportunity to work in one of our Engineering teams, supported by your fellow Engineers and Engineering Manager.

We are currently seeking interns for the following teams, and you can read about what those teams do using these links:

  • Secure - Responsible for the security validation features in the GitLab platform so our users can keep their code secure.  The team primarily works in Ruby on Rails, Go and JavaScript using Vue.JS.

What we are looking for:

  • Programming/Coding skills - you need to know Ruby on Rails, Go, C, JavaScript using Vue.Js well enough to do a technical test using one of them.

  • Good initiative and self-motivation - working remotely means you will be a manager of one 

  • Positive and solution-oriented mindset

  • Comfort working in a highly agile, fast paced environment

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Someone who can start full time in the next three months

Some of the things you'll be doing:

  • Enhance your programming skills in one of the languages we use (such as Ruby on Rails or Go)

  • Submit merge request for code changes

  • Participate in code reviews and pair programming with your team

  • Learn how to effectively work asynchronously

  • Participate in agile ceremonies

  • Regular 1:1's with your manager, mentor and other Engineers within your team

  • Learning and living the company values

Compensation

The hourly rate range for this role’s listed level is currently $15/hr-$25/hr for Colorado residents and $15/hr-$40/hr for New York and New Jersey residents only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
