Gleam is a growth marketing platform that helps businesses focus on actions. An action can be whatever you want, an email subscriber, a Twitch subscribe, a Twitter follow or someone mentioning your company via a #hashtag on Instagram. Our campaigns are designed to work anywhere, on the web, mobile or even inside Facebook tabs.
We’re a privately owned Australian SaaS business based in Melbourne, Australia with a fully remote team from all over the world. We power growth for over 1M+ businesses of all shapes and sizes around the world and we're just getting started.
The Role
Due to our continued growth, we’re now looking for an experienced front end developer or UI Engineer to join our team. You’ll work directly with designers, our founders and other frontend developers to bring designs to our customers and drive the UI/UX of the product forwards.
Our current front end stack: VueJS and Jquery (and AngularJS, although we’re moving away from this), Formtastic, and Bootstrap (Rails on the backend).
A typical day could involve:
Working with our designers to improve the consistency of design, implementation and review cycles.
Pairing with Founders to improve the UI.
Working with our UI Lead and App Lead to improve the app/share chores.
Ensuring designs are managed and implemented based on our Component library & Figma.
Pull reviews and provide direction on better frontend practices.
Contributing to discussion on to improve the UI/UX.
Understanding key design and UX trends and bringing them to the discussion at Gleam.
To be effective, you’ll need the following:
Several years of commercial experience in front end development, ideally working closely with designers.
Proven skills across Javascript (ideally including VueJS), HTML5, CSS3
Experience writing tests in JS and modern asset packaging (yarn, npm, webpacker, import maps).
Highly effective communication skills (written and spoken).
Ruby, Rails and AngularJS skills would be a bonus.
As a remote team, we value individuals who can take initiative to make things happen, are responsive and conscientious, and who value feedback and can use it effectively.
Why join us?
As a bootstrapped, profitable company, we don’t have to worry about the next funding round or how much runway we have. We offer competitive salaries, a great work/life balance and the support you need, whether that’s a laptop, co-working space subscription, or books and courses to develop your skills. Plus:
Work anywhere you like across SE Asia or ANZ (a timezone +/- 3hrs from AEST). Our team is spread across Australia, Dubai, Greece, Indonesia, Portugal, Serbia, Thailand, Ukraine, and the USA.
Arrange your time to suit you. As long as you're doing the ~37.5 hours a week and organising your time to facilitate synchronous work when needed, the 'when' is up to you.
We encourage you to work on side projects for fun and profit.
Only a handful of meetings per year and no crazy deadlines.
Remote first culture. We were built this way.
We ensure you get to know your team with Friday drinks (remote unless we’re in the same city) and yearly in-person retreats.
Note: This is a fully remote role but we are searching for an individual located within a timezone +/- 3hrs from AEST (Melbourne) to facilitate collaboration with key team members.
