Upmind is looking for a Lead Javascript Engineer.

As team lead, you will wield your expertise to shape the code, architecture, tooling, and management, driving our innovative billing automation platform for subscription and service businesses.

Upmind is a fast-growing and well-funded SaaS startup, revolutionising the world of billing automation. Our cutting-edge product, developed on a modern cloud infrastructure, boasts an API-first backend, a SPA frontend, and a beautifully responsive UI. Joining our team means you’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the latest (and most exciting) frontend technologies, be part of a truly agile workforce and impact how we work by collectively reviewing and improving processes.

Our frontend weapon of choice is Vue.js. We build with Vite, version with GIT and utilise third-party tools like Sentry and Lokalise to streamline development, monitoring and community contributions.

This is a fully remote position, but occasional office meetups are encouraged to aid collaboration, idea sharing and general camaraderie. We have spaces in London, the Cotswolds and Betahaus, Sofia.

What is the role?

As Lead Javascript Engineer you will take complete ownership of our codebase, architecture, tooling and the management of a small, yet agile team. You will work closely with our leadership and backend functions to implement a fast, responsive and accessible frontend that delivers the optimal solution experience for our customers and their end users.

• Lead the development of our frontend apps, ensuring the team's work is robust, secure, and thoroughly tested, whilst delivered in a timely manner.

• Translate key stakeholder requirements into functional code that exceeds expectations.

• Lead code reviews, maintaining a high standard of coding rigour, best practices, and standards.

• Drive underlying architectural decisions and improvements.

• Optimise build scripts and enhance overall application performance.

• Continually seek opportunities to improve tooling and refine the development process.

• Maintain the stack, staying ahead of dependency vulnerabilities and other potential pitfalls.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is passionate about leading and building exceptional user experiences within a modern SaaS platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong and demonstrable knowledge of building world-class Javascript applications and leading/growing a high-performance team.

The ideal person will have the following skills, experience and competencies:

• Expert-level proficiency in Vue/Javascript/Typescript and modern frontend technical stacks.

• A proven track record of developing real-world applications at a professional level, with 6+ years of commercial experience

• Ability to lead technical discussions, conduct thorough code reviews, and effectively triage issues.

• Aptitude for understanding and solving complex business problems.

• Willingness to educate and mentor fellow team members.

• Comfortable working in a remote and agile development team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• A mindset driven by innovation and collaboration, always pushing boundaries.
