Intro

Hi! We are NERIS Analytics, the team behind 16Personalities – perhaps you've come across our personality test? We take pride in turning complex and academic concepts into something simple, beautiful, and easy to use. And now we need some help – with dozens of sections, nearly 50 languages, and a plethora of fresh ideas, it’s becoming quite a handful for our small dev team to manage.

This is where you come in.

Position

We’re looking for an experienced, skilled, and dedicated frontend dev. As mentioned, we’re a small team, and we don’t have the capacity to mentor someone still early in their career – so you’ll need to hit the ground running, able to work mostly independently and deliver clean, efficient, readable, and bug-free code with minimal guidance.

The position is entirely remote. You can work from anywhere in the world, as long as you can commit full-time or nearly full-time – around 30 to 40 hours per week.

Our near-term frontend priorities are listed below. It’s all a team effort, of course – but this should give you a rough idea of what you’ll be focusing on first.

  • Migrate from Vue 2 to 3.

  • Improve and extend localization coverage.

  • Implement pending (re)design updates using Zeplin and Invision.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and excellent written communication skills. We don’t do calls, it’s all typing and Slack.

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience with Javascript (Vue 2 and 3, ES6+) and CSS (Less or Sass).

  • Ability to skillfully and confidently refactor and improve an existing codebase.

  • Very strong self-management abilities and superb attention to detail.

  • Solid knowledge of optimization techniques for high traffic websites – page load, bundle size, lazy loading etc.

  • Passionate about perfecting your craft, yet able to find inspiration outside of work.

  • Strong habit of unit testing your work and documenting the key parts.

  • Familiarity with accessibility features – ARIA attributes, keyboarding etc.

  • Collaborative mindset and attitude, with at least some sense of humor.

  • Experience working remotely.

Nice to have

  • Some basic backend knowledge – specifically, Laravel. Just enough to check the routes, views etc.

  • Experience implementing designs on Zeplin or Invision.

What we offer

  • Work for a popular, fun brand that is always growing and experimenting with new ideas.

  • Stable, long-term remote position.

  • Competitive hourly rate.

  • Very flexible approach to time off and work schedule.

  • Openness to new tech and tools (just not for the sake of it!).

  • Management that understands and cares about good code.

  • Being part of a small team of friendly, curious, and ambitious individuals based all around the world.
